Solar Power Expo

This should be the focus of all research. Screw E85!

Students from 20 colleges and universities who met on the National Mall were tasked with one simple mission: to build a completely solar-powered, 800-square-foot house with a working washer and dryer and enough power to run a computer and a TV.

Sponsored primarily by the Department of Energy, last week’s Solar Decathlon was more than a school project. The two-year contest complemented President Bush's Solar America Initiative, which seeks to make solar energy cost-competitive with conventional forms of electricity by 2015.
