Survival plan

Postby FC on Tue Mar 11, 2008 9:10 pm

So everyone knows it now, huh?
The earth is going towards destruction at an alarming rate. We have officially known this for atleast 10 years.
Everyone seems to know a fair share of facts and fiction about all of this, but I have yet to meet a person knowing how we will survive.
It hit me the other day, why don't the leaders of our country announce a plan to get us out of this warming and garbage mess.
A grand plan, so that when people would ask each other, "where is this world going?" The other person could always refer to that plan.
Something that would make us say "Yess! That feels like a great way to clean the planet!" Is there already a plan like this? If not then why? If so then shouldn't everyone know of it?
There must be a plan. Do they keep it secret? Does it involve stuff we shouldn't know, like killing people? Does it involve epidemic diseases? Does it involve U.F.O.s killing people? How many of us would believe in U.F.O.s if the serious media reported them? How many of us would believe in a tsunami being natural? How far will U.S.A. go for the last drops of oil?
I don't want to be too rude, but the earth is under pressure and it's increasing.
(Overpopulation-more consumers-less resources-more global warming-more pressure)
Increasing especially on the US government and I ain't hearing nothin'.

I hear China is planning to have their economical rise and luxury. Do you know the population of China!?

I love the doom and gloom, too bad it is misplaced. I honestly believe that global warming is a scam. One problem I have is that scientists cannot prove that humans have had a significant impact on the warming of the earth, it could be a natural cycle. Also the earth has been coming out of an ice age for the last thousand years. Sure the earth is the hottest it has ever been, but that could have been said in medieval times.

Now, say that a huge calamity was going to happen, would you really want the government to survive? Let's face it, our government can't manage the problems facing our country now, how would they manage those problems on top of a disaster? Katrina anyone? Survival plans should be individual in nature, not huge plans involving governments. If you want to live through the end you shouldn't rely on Uncle Sam or Big China.

great-----i gotta sidestep every chromosomally damaged knucklehead with a tech9 or baseball bat---that every man for himself thing hasnt played well in any self respecting sci-fi vision-----as long as there is nationalism, greed, avarice, and hatred, i think when it all hits the fan, we'll be pickin fleas off each other and roasting newborns in the cold wintry dark....what the hell is wrong with havin a contingency plan that does not center around a bunker scene with the bushys (THATS a friggin nightmare!!)----the thing of it is, no one has successfully held this admins feet to the fire for ANYthing---everythings doublesupersecret, traitors go into journalism jobs, and theres no accountability for any vile thing that has come to the light of day---and it keeps right on rollin as status quo----so, its either a case of us getin what we deserve, or we apparently think we arent worth much that we should settle for this pile o stinky

Not necessarily every individual man for himself. Make it a survival plan that includes your family or community. Back to the old days before BIG GOVERNMENT. You know when there were villages and tribes.

Besides you don't have to sidestep anyone with a tec-9, get an AK and you'll destroy them. Not all guns are equal.

Dang, I really need to buy some guns...the primitive weapon arsenal on my daughter's walls won't cut it unless we can hide until the ammo runs out...Oh wait! We can booby trap the entrance to our cavern! :D

Reading this thread reminds me of that 'who is most likely to eat their buddies' and 'who could survive a zombie attack' quizzes awhile back...I scored pretty highly on both, so the end of the world couldn't be much worse.

i'm afraid i'd be the one left with a single bullet and a tear in my eye as i implore the others to "save yourselves!!!"----i used to joke when the schitt goes down y'all better stay outta arms way (ha! get it---"arm's"way---oh God i kill myself...), but as it was not so lovingly pointed out, my disability precludes me from runnin fast, and my size would make the short straw a done deal......"...you've lost that loooovin feeeelllin...." gone batshit...........HOWEVER---back in the day?? DEFINITELY would be the one settin up the perimeter---sssiigggghhhh-----ooooooo, wait---maybe i could be like that big ol bug in starship troopers---*The Brain*-----have to have lotsa minions , tho....SOL again........

Bigger isn't better. Rifles just have longer barrels, so they allow the bullets to attain higher velocities before exiting the barrel. It gives 'em more punch. Also a tec-9 isn't all that great of a gun, it's just well known because a lot of dumb gangsters used it.

I'm thinking a good booby trap would involve some OC spray directed towards the face. Then when the bad guy has a face full of burn give a good smash with a baseball bat or a fire ax.

OC means Oleoresin Capsicum. OC is the part of the pepper juice that causes the burning. It's used in pepper spray.

You've seen the cop shows where a bad guy gets hit with it right? Well imagine someone breaking into your house and then getting a face full of OC, not only would they be blinded but they'd also be screaming. So it'd be easy to find them and easier to end their existence. You can buy one of the fogger types and have it set with a string at your front door. It'd be good against anyone as long as they don't have a mask on.

We Americans are a blood-thirsty lot, aren't we? I was only kidding earlier, but I'd be more than willing to protect my home and family by whatever means necessary should the situation arise.

Rupchuck, I had a Tek 9 once and have never understood why they are so "famous". The piece of crap I had jammed up about one of every twenty rounds.

I'm glad I'm in America. Firepower to the people! :)

My AK has cycled over 1,000 rounds and hasn't jammed once. I had a dent magazine that stopped feeding once and the spring on my drum mag wasn't tight enough once, I easily fixed both problems. I suggest that you get one and not a cheap Chinese model either.
